Scholarship Information

effective 8/21/06

• One scholarship will be offered each semester (fall and spring).
• The scholarship will be awarded to one student.
• The scholarship will be equal to one month's tuition.
• If the student misses a lesson during the month covered by the scholarship, no credit will be given into a future month.
• Any and all tuition guidelines apply to the scholarship.
• No student may win the scholarship more than one semester in a row.
• The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of musical performance.
• The scholarship auditions will be judged by at least 2 musicians from the North Bay area (to be announced).
• Any type of musical piece may be used: Classical Solo, Orchestral Excerpt, Jazz Melody, Jazz Improvisation, etc.
• The piece should demonstrate the student's control of the following: note accuracy, rhythm, articulation, intonation, phrasing, dynamics, tone quality, etc.
• The audition should be 5 minutes in length.
• No accompanist is necessary.
• The Fall audition will be held in late October and the scholarship will apply to November's tuition.
• The audition will be held at Stanroy's Music Center.
